The Forgotten Scroll
My 6th grade daughter really enjoyed the book. She said the story is well written and it’s easy to imagine the places in the story and the characters involved. She loved understanding the power of nature and what it can do. The book also shows the importance of friendship and helping each other. She would definitely recommend this story to anyone that likes fantasy and adventure books.

Thirteen-year-old Jaxon didn't have much to begin with, but when his father died, it felt like his entire world crumbled down around him. Resigning himself to a slow and painful death at the hands of the wasteland deserts, he runs away without so much as a thought about how to survive. But destiny has other plans for him.
Instead of meeting death on the burning dunes, a mysterious stranger finds him face down in the sand. After being nursed back to health, Jaxon thinks things will get better until he learns that the man has no intentions of taking care of him. He abandons Jaxon in a cave with the promise of something impossible. Living his entire life on a dying planet, Jaxon is confused when he leaves the cave to find a thriving, green world in front of him. But things are not as perfect as they appear. The cave he emerged from is forbidden, and the punishment for being inside is death.
